Google confirma oficialmente el cierre de Google News España
Lo veníamos adelantando a lo largo de toda la noche: Google News cerrará en España.
El cierre de Google News España se producirá el 16 de diciembre
Acaba de llegar además la confirmación oficial por parte de Google, que ha publicado un comunicado hace escasos segundos en su blog corporativo a nivel europeo firmado por Richard Gringras, máximo responsable de Google News, en el que dice:
«But sadly, as a result of a new Spanish law, we’ll shortly have to close Google News in Spain. Let me explain why. This new legislation requires every Spanish publication to charge services like Google News for showing even the smallest snippet from their publications, whether they want to or not. As Google News itself makes no money (we do not show any advertising on the site) this new approach is simply not sustainable. So it’s with real sadness that on 16 December (before the new law comes into effect in January) we’ll remove Spanish publishers from Google News, and close
Es decir, Google reconoce que lamentablemente, como resultado de la nueva legislación española, Google cerrará en breve Google News en España.
Efectivamente, como habíamos anunciado, Google News será cerrado el próximo martes, 16 de diciembre, antes de que la nueva ley de Propiedad Intelectual entre en efecto el día 1 de enero.
Google confirma pues que eliminará todo el contenido de los medios españoles de Google News y cerrará Google News en España.
